Joshua Mckinley Prom Dresses

Joshua McKinley grew up in Sunnyside, New York and knew from a young age that he was destined for the fashion world. Growing up, McKinley surrounded himself with the arts, mainly the local theatre productions. After high school, McKinley enrolled in The Fashion Institute of Technology, and he was also educated abroad in Florence, Italy at Polimoda. Soon after his return to the United States, McKinley auditioned for Project Runway and became a contestant on Season 9. McKinley was one of twenty designers that cycle who was hoping to make it big. With a little bit of luck and whole lot of tallent, McKinley landed himself in second place on Project Runway that season! Joshua McKinley soon became a freelancer, later taking on a job as an assistant designer for private-label brands. Today, Joshua McKinley has his own brand, his own name, and his own voice.

Joshua McKinley hopes that his dazzling brand will inspire others to follow their dreams and never give up. He has a "more is better" philosophy about life, as well as design. While he is currently concentrating on his signature menswear collections, he is also building a baby line, and has a rapidly growing collection of formal dresses and gowns for women. McKinley's cocktail and evening collection for Johnathan Kayne is under the label "Johnathan Kayne by Joshua McKinley."

McKinley's designs are a play on the old Hollywood classics. His formalwear line evokes serious glamor, boldness, and fresh femininity. Many of his gowns have dramatic, high necklines and sexy, sultry open backs. The main colors of his collection are black, white, navy, gold and red -- and he's not afraid of beadwork! McKinley uses innovative, high-tech fabrics and he is always ahead of the trends.

Joshua McKinley is inspired by thrift shops and enjoys traveling -- always trying to move forward. He admires designer Michael Kors and his efforts to set trends while still remaining bold and classic.
